The first bar we headed into in Liverpool was Remeniss 90′s Bar on the famous Mathew street. It was about 8pm when we went in and it was quiet. I wasn’t impressed with the pub and eithier was any of the rest of our group. There was a two for one offer on some of the drinks but i had a pint. Some of the lads tried ‘John Smiths’. I had a bottle of Budweiser. The music playing was too loud given the fact there was hardly anyone there besides us and it was so early. There is a good size dance floor across from the bar and the dj plays from up in the back section.
The toilets were not great. There was loads of posters advising people of the new smoking ban there. It was great going into the smoke free bars there. There was a guy having his pint in the toilet which i thought was a bit odd. We stayed for the one drink and hurried on our way. Would i go back? No. Would anyone else in our group? Very doubtful i’d say.
Toilet rating: 5/10
Drink rating: 6/10
Overall rating: 5/10
Final comment: This pub’s strange name should have been warning to stay away!
what are you talking about the rem dont get goin till about 12am its fair to give it a bad review because you went in at the wrong time
Anyone who visits any pub, or club, on Mathew Street prior to 8pm is wasting their time, if they expect to have a good time. The action doesn’t take place until after 11pm, and then look out. You will have the greatest time in very safe surroundings. Lots of good music and a variety of venues. The above review was obviously carried out by someone who retires to bed at 10pm and thinks that is a late night.
