The Baltic Fleet

The Baltic Fleet was the pub right next to our hostel, the YHA. We decided to go in for a drink before heading out for our meal on the second night in Liverpool. It is situated just across the road from the impressive Albert Dock area. To be honest from the outside it looks like an old building that could do with modernisation. There were a few people in by the bar and we managed to get a seat in the back section of the pub. There was an excellent selection of beers on offer including a Mongolian beer which was the first time i have seen a beer from there on sale. We all went for the run of the mill beers except Jason and Kev. I can’t remember the names of their particular drinks but Kev liked his and Jason’s didn’t go down too well! The furniture we were sitting on was all wooden. You couldn’t even fart and get away with it! I was reading another review site and apparently there is a brewery in the basement of this pub. That’s very impressive.

I didn’t check the toilets as we were in a hurry to get to the restaurant. It was ‘hat night’ in the pub on the night that we went in. Thinking back i wish i had gone back to this pub or stayed there longer. They serve food here as well. If you are staying in the YHA hostel or are in the albert dock area, check out The Baltic Fleet’.

Drink rating 7/10
Overall rating: 7.5/10

Final comment: The Baltic Fleet is something you could call a gem of a pub. It may not look great from the outside but it is a fine establishment.
